A composition commissioned for Manny Rettinger’s Chuppers–acoustic and electric creatures that refract sound. Excerpts are from a live Keller Hall performance of “La Virga,” which includes interviews about performers’ memories of intense weather and atmospheric events to evoke the changes of climate in our short lifetimes.

Gatas y Vatas is a long-running gathering Demarco founded, but it’s constructed by many organizers as a non-hierarchical team. The festival a community art project that offers a platform for solo, cisgender and transgender women and nonbinary performance artists to push their own boundaries and those of their audience. GyV has also become a platform for visual artists and crafters to showcase their work, and it’s sparked a series of compilation albums, companion zines, art shows, benefit parties and workshops.
